The beautiful & enchanting land is located in the north bank of the river Brahmaputra in the state of Assam in the north east region of India, by the foothills of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh; inhabited predominantly by Bodo language speaking ethnic group. It is an autonomous Administrative unit constituted under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India covering an area of 8795 Sq. Km (approx) with its four Bodoland Territorial Areas District (BTAD) namely; Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri. At present, Kokrajhar serves as the capital of Bodoland. The Bodos adopted the Devanagari script.
